Cooking Vegetable/Olive Oil

Try using Vegetable or Olive Oil on your vynle parts like weather stripping and the black trim around the windows. Works great and restores it.

I used a toothbrush because i had got some wax on my black trim and it came right off, looks better than ever.

Try it.

Peanut oil can be used also but like the ones mentioned it won't last more than a week or two. For really faded trim try Forever Black. It's a dye. For the weather stripping I use Gummipfedge.

yea sure^^ Thats what i used...

Although, when you apply, make sure your use a toothbrush and scrub it well...

On vinyl parts i skimped over on, its starting to show the white wax again.

Do a good job the first time, safe yourself time and the mess. Oh yea, did i mention it gets messy?

This is a bad idea, as both cooking oil and olive oils turn rancid after a week of sitting uncovered.

Trade-off... spend 8 bucks and get some good vinyl/leather cleaner/conditioner, OR, have your car smell like a restaurant kitchen after a saturday night. I spend 11+ hours a day on the line, as a chef in a high-end restaurant kitchen... I take comfort in knowing that my car doesn't smell like "work" when I get into it.

Last time I checked, extra virgin olive oil isnt much cheaper than any of the products mentioned in this thread that are meant to be used to shine up trim.

Blues:

Another thing that everyone has not mentioned is that the oils do not provide any sort of UV protection like 303 or Vinylex would.
