Snap Tint

hey, for all you do it your selfers or friends of them, has anyone purchased from snaptint.com? They seem fair for selling everything (tools and shipping) for around $112. They use solar gard too. I got a quote from my nearest auto tint place for any percentage and the whole car for 200 bucks and lifetime replacement against fading etc. Is it worth the 80 bucks for labor and warranty? thanks

with one person that has never done it before it would take an hour to prep the car alone. There is a lot of teknique in window tinting. I would pay the extra $80 and just have it done. I tint for a living, if that matters at all... It's harder than you think. It was a month before I could tint an entire car alone. Also solar guard does kinda fade after a year or 2. Turns kinda purple because the ink fades. Go with Llumar. It's the best out there. That's what I have on my car at 20% all the way wround. It's awesome
Hope this helps man

oh yeah i have another quick question for you...do you recommend waiting to get tint on my car until the spring or does it not matter in the winter? i figure that it doesn't adhere as good during the first couple of days you have it

You can go ahead and get it now, sun light really helps it dry out. when it first gets done the windows will seem a little "hazy"... that's just water stuck between the film and the window. It's impossible to press it all out. It will go away in about a week. DON'T roll down the windows for AT LEAST 3 days. Sometimes more just depending on how much soap the installers use. As long as you keep the windows up for a fewdays you will be fine in the winter.
