New Paint Job, QUESTIONS!!!!

So I got a new paint job and I have a few concerns, it's been raining like crazy and hailing too since I got it. How bad is this? Also how long should I wait before washing and waxing? Any other things I need to know?

I went to a local shop and paid about $400. Why do you want to paint your 6th Gen so quickly?

Hail - FTL. I hope it didn't do damage.

You can wash it right away but avoid wax for at least 90 days. You can also ask the body shop.

$400 ??? Did you go to maaco ??

Any place that does a respectable paint job on a maxima is going to run $2000-$2500, unless you got a deal through a buddy.

I would wait 90 days before waxing/polishing

I just got my rear bumper re-painted after I got rear-ended. I was told to wait 60 days before waxing, but I can wash whenever I want.

For $400, he must of got alot of spray paint

He now drives a Honda ...a paint job w/moldings removed will run about $2500-3000.

Wait a least 90 days before doing anything to the paint.

Yea they say 60-90 days before waxing.

Hopefully the hail didnt scratch it because the paint is still soft..

Good luck

It def. does have orange peel, as much as the dealer does. 60-90 days, I guess I have to wait until March before doing anything. I think it has the same amount of peel as my Maxima did.

Yeah it was a cheap paint job, by you get what you pay for.
Yeah but even with clear coat, it still feels rough and there is orange peel everywhere, but I don't mind it.

No waxing for3-4 months if you can wait that long. Wash as often as you like though.

It doesn't help you, but your question had already been answered about 20 times and the thread started turning into a cheap paint job thread. Just thought it was interesting.

Oh I see, another reason on why it was cheap was b/c the color I picked was discounted due overstock.

Typically, the paint isn't the expensive part. Labor is the larger chunk of the cost. It's very time consuming to paint a car, when doing it the correct way.
