Tinting

Im moving my I30t down to Florida for school. Right now I've no tint on the windows. Im looking to get them done either before or after I bring it down. How dark should I get them tinted and should I get them done at home--Michigan--or wait til the car gets here--Miami?

I have a great place for you in Hollywood. I just got my max retinted and I'm very happy with it. However, Miami will have a tint shop about every 2 miles. Get it done down here. Do not get anything lighter than 20%. I run 15% and its not dark down here.

get as dark as the 'law' allows +1 more shade. Most cops don't know the difference between one shade.

DO NOT get a front tint in FL. They are strict on that. Hear are the other numbers:

Also, yeah, you could go one more shade, but a lot of places in FL wont do that. At least the ones around here.

Dude...you are speaking from Daytona...South Florida is like another state my friend. Cops do not flinch with tint darker than legal, especially considering most cop cars I see have dark tint to begin with. you can easily ride around with tint on your windshield, limo tint, etc. However, I do not recommend a front tint unless you have real good eyes.

I got the "best tint out" 15% Pinnacle. I love it thus far and it owns my 20% llumar titanium I used to have (and love). Keeps the car extremely cool during the day and looks very classy.

thanks. i thoroughly enjoy it...the tint is "thick" too which leads me to believe it will be much less prone to scrapes and such. The tint reflects decently during the day, but looks "black" at night from the outside.

Its all personal preference, but I would reccommend you go as dark as legally possible. Wherever you get it done at, MAKE SURE they offer a lifetime warranty. If you're going to be in Florida for a while, it would be a good idea to get it done there. That way if something does go wrong you can bring it right back to them.
