Alloy Wheel Buffing

Can you buff out little gouges on an alloy wheel with a hand held motorized buffer, or are they meant for bigger surfaces? (Do you use the edge of the buffing disc instead of the flat big round part for small areas?) Want to make the area smoother, and blend in more.

depends how bad the damage is, usually if damaged by a wheel machine your gonna need the wheels to be re coated or finished, have the place pay for the damage
