I'm a student at the University of Maryland and for my business writing class I'm doing a report/study on how much a local car modification shop would benefit from the addition of detailing services.
I've read David B's main writeup on Autopia, and there's some good information on there, but I didn't see any links to where he got his info from. If you know of some good journals/publications/websites which may have some info of the detailing business/services, I would really like to see them.
BTW, for some reason when I try to post on Autopia it goes to a blank page, and it never gets posted. Has anyone else had that problem? And David's inbox is full as well.....

That is about it and mostly about tunnel washes and coin-ops. They have 3-4 pages devoted to detailing.

I usually get lots of replies when I post but I've been there a pretty long time and everyone knows me.
