Touch up paint
VERY lightly. Less is more with the little bottles that include brushes in the lid. You want to have an amount of paint that you can "lay across" the scratch. Doing it in this fasion avoids brush strokes. How big is the area you are touching up?
Forget the brush. Use a toothpick and slowly and gently lay the paint into the scratch. It's better to underfill and go back over it a few times than to glob it in. You want to build up enough paint to barely get even to or slightly thicker than the original surrounding paint so that you can polish or sand it down to match. This includes a clear coat layer if you're doing that too.
.... great way to do it is first take a blade and cut the end of the brush on an angle.... add a touch of paint thinner to the bottle, will help on the app.... also keep a rag handy with a bit of thinner on it to fix your mistakes! .... a steady hand is the key, use your pinky finger to help steady if necessary.
