Cleaning Cloth Seats

I just finished cleaning my floor mats with oxy clean and now want to clean my tan cloth seats. What products do people use to get those nasty dark colors out??

The stair tool on a household/ industrial carpet cleaner. I had a big brown stain on one of my seats that absolutely nothing could get out from sunroof water leaking in. I did a couple runs over it with the carpet cleaner and they came out looking like new; they also smelled great.

id rent a steam cleaner and do liek 3 or 4 runs over it, it'll come out nice and clean in after it dries up. fairly cheap too.

I would use a small amount of oxy clean. It worked well. Don't overdo it though, there is the risk of bleaching!

...If you do steam clean them....make sure and leave your doors open or your windows down for a bit so they can air dry. I took my car to get it detailed and they steam cleaned the seats. Afterwards, they closed everything and left the car sitting in the sun all day. It smelled like sh@# when I picked it up!

So for those that have steam cleaned your seats, was there a noticeable improvement. I too have the tan cloth seats and plenty of wear (95) and would love to get them clean again. I've tried OxyClean but it really didn't do much below the surface.

How much of it did you use? Don't be bashful when mixing it with water, but at the same time, remember that too much of it will bleach the seats.

After you steamclean or use any kind of carpet cleaner on your seats, you may want to look into scotchguarding. Otherwise, they will probably get dirty much faster. Steam cleaning and carpet cleaners will remove alot of factory coating that helps to repell stains. I scotchguard all my cars and it's amazing how clean the interior will stay.
