Cleaning headliner
Cleaning headliner
I had a stain on my headliner so I sprayed some carpet cleaner on it and began to brush it but when it dried the area is now darker than the rest of the headliner? any suggestions?
depending on what car(trade in) if i am cleaning it to get whole saled or whatever ill just use brake cleaner. spray it on a clean towel and wipe the affected are and it works good!
I personally havent used it in my car yet but ive used it on several cars with good results. Never had any fading issues. Ive even used it on the hard plastic..like the door sills, just make sure you use a conditioner after though.

Seriously Brake cleaner on a headliner? I think I've heard it all. I would use a 10/90 of Woolite and Water then use a rag and ever so lightly rub it on the liner. basically think if it this way your headliner is held on by glue and if you soak the affected area later down the line your headliner is going to start sagging
I tried to clean a spot on mine with some carpet cleaner. Just turned the gray spot black. How safe is it to use brake cleaner on the headliner? Supposedly it works (as was said above) but will this have a negative effect on the glue holding up the liner?
not sure about brake cleaner, only one way to find out.
I used woolite diluted 8:1. I sprayed that directly on the headliner w/o issues and used microfiber cloths... but i suggest spraying onto cloth first
