www.autogeek.net has come great deals. But trust me.. it's not going to be cheap. If you want to take the professional way to making your car shine, it's going to cost some cash. If you just want a decent shine but still have some swirls then your best bet is just to buy a clay-bar, good pre-wax cleaner and decent polish that works well with by hand application, a sealant/glaze, and a good wax. That alone should cost you about $75-$200 dollars depending on the products you buy. All of my detailing stuff, all of the R&D, testing, etc. etc. has cost me well over $900+ dollars. It's just something that every detailer has to go through to find the product combination that will get him the best results. Hell, I'm not even finished yet! I have another $250 dollars worth of stuff I need to buy before my kit is complete.

If you want a DA buffer (spins and oscillates), either go with the UDM (Ultimate Detailing Machine) or the Flex. The Flex is more powerful but also more expensive.

The machine polishing forum at http://autopia.org has a lot of information on both, plus the PC, Cyclo and rotary polishers.
