Gas smell,,,,help!!!
Too much talking while changing fuel filter this week. Didn't pay attention and wow. sprayed gas on seat board and a little on back seat. Anybody know a good way to get rid of the smell?
don't forget, gas smell means more power:P lol. All seirousness, use shampoo if you can deap clean your interior yourself. LEAVE YOUR WINDOWS OPEN for a good bit. And of course, add air freshners=)
Is it leather?? From what I remember (experience) it will ruin your leather. Not like dissolve it, but over time you will see. Dont just let the gas sit on your seats if its leather or what ever else, clean it asap.
Also, how in the hel* did you get gas sprayed in your car, when the seats are in your car and the filter is in the engine bay?????? Didnt you read the directions? Your supposed to remove the fuel pump fuse, and start your car, then keep starting it, until it wont start, then most of the gas is gone, so then you can remove the fuel filter safely. I recently changed it, did everything right, then all of a sudden, id made a hissing sound, I ruined my shirt, lol. The shirt had some plasic and rubber on it, it started to shrivle up, lol.

uhhh naaaa
Sorry, but on 02 max's the filter is under the rear seat, at the top of the tank. I took the same steps (fuse, run till engine wont start, then attempt to start) you took. The line only sprayed about an ounce at the most. Less than some kid spitting water. (unscientific measurement)
But all is well, the smell is gone. Now if only getting the baby poop smell out of things were as simple.
