So I'm planning on getting a PC kit from Autogeek.net and have a couple questions. Basicaly I'm looking to get a kit to get me started and want to be sure I get everything I'll need to achieve good results. I'm new to machine polishing so bear with me, will 2 polishing pads be enough to do the whole car or am I going to need more? Also will the polishes/ waxes in the kit be enough to remove moderate swirling with the white pad or should I also purchace a few cutting pads (orange)? Anyway here is a link let me know what you guys think. Also any recomendations for future purchaces would be great, as this is just a start that I can build upon.

I bought the PC Kit last year from AutoGeek also. I would recommend at least 3 pads, one for removing swirls, one for the polish and one for the finishing. I would def get a couple cutting pads. If you try to take out swirls with the polishing pads, it wont work very well. Poorboy's has some good products, I have used there SSR2.5 and polishing products, good results. I am getting ready to order some Wolfgang stuff now, I like trying different stuff

That AutoGeek kit looks like you would be good to go once you get it!

 

If you have the money, get the Flex XC3401...I did, and it is awesome. I also purchased one of the pad kits that had numerous pads in it. I picked up the Wolfgang Total Swirl Remover, and the Wolfgang Finishing glaze. I think they both work awesome for my paint finish. My buddy picked up some Menzerna compounds, and I tried them, but I think the Wolfgang worked better for me.

 

I bought the Ultimate Detail Machine from Autogeek and love it. They say its a little more powerful then the PC. I got it bundled with XMT Light Swirl Remover kit. I also purchased some 4 inch orange pads. I love the smaller pads for getting the swirls out. Can put a little more pressure on them. I had never used a buffer before and did my black Dodge Ram Mega Cab (thats a lot of paint!) and it came out great. Just take your time and follow the directions and I'm sure you will have great results.

Also, sign up on the autogeek website, after I bought mine they send me email coupons all the time and I could have saved some $$. Sign up first and get the coupons before you buy.

Much better then those two kits you posted. When I first started detailing, Menzerna was the first product I used, and will be the last.

I tried the Menzerna polishes and did not like them at all. They dusted pretty good on me, and didn't seem to cut very well. I used the Wolfgang "total swirl remover", and finishing glaze, and I swear by them. I know the Wolfgang stuff is based on Menzerna, but I don't get any dusting with the Wolgang products.
