How to revive Weatherstripping

I can hear random air leaks when I am driving and I was wondering what people do to rejuvenate the weatherstripping. Any kind of special products? Or just some rubber/vinyl protectant?

Or any sources for replacement weather stripping? OEM = EXPENSIVE

I clean mine with those Magic Erasers then coat them with spray wax. Seems to work pretty well.

I've never looked into it but I'm sure there is. Re-conditioning it should help.

Clean them with APC(all purpose cleaner) like Zep Citrus (sold at Home Depot) and then apply some silicone lube (sold at any Auto Parts). Use a microfiber to rub the silicone until it disappears. You can also use a trim dressing, but make sure it's water based. I used to own an Aurora with frameless windows and I had to do this every Fall/Spring.

My favorite trim dressing is Mother's Back to Black... according to the marketing it can "revive" worn weatherstripping but I doubt it will do much to make it "bounce back."

May sound goofy, but someone told me about using Vasoline on the weatherstripping and it worked pretty well on a friend's older car....

Op appears concerned about the noise, not aesthetics. If thats the case, ya use the old $ bill method....close your door jam around folded bill and slide through door ways so you see where your "loose spots" pun intended are, and bend the door slightly by bracing with knee and pulling with arms.....old school yes, effective....you bet your @$$

Pm or reply if still confused

If the weather stripping isn't springy or sealing, it means that the substrate is cracked or fatigued. It's like looking at a dented fender and asking what kind of wax will pull out that dent... you really just need to replace the weatherstripping.

If you want to try it, I put silicone spray on my weatherstripping about once every two months. Seems to help it along, but I know that mine needs to be replaced too.
