Nu Finish?

http://www.nufinish.com/products/car-polish

I don't get it. I was always under the impression that you need to put wax on after polishing because polishing gives no protection. All polish does is give you that deep shine and gets rid of swirl marks. So I don't get it.. Is Nu Finish polish a wax as well? They say it's all the protection you'll need. Meanwhile it says it contains no wax.

I've used this product in the past with good results but always covered with a caranuba wax after. There was just a deal at AZ going on where you get a whole buncha towels with a small bottle of Nu Finish, so I started reading about it, and now Im confused as to what kinda polish it really is.

I used it after reading it was the best in Consumer Reports a couple decades ago.

At this point, I am about to clay and wax my old 01 Maxima, which has not been done yet.

I was looking here to see if I could pick up a Maxima.org recomended wax locally, or have to order it.

I forgot about nufinish, and saw your thread, but disappointed no forum eggspurts have jumped in.

Pretty sure Nu Finish polish is not a wax. I just used Meguires deep crystal wax the other day, and was very happy with its easy application, perfect drying time, easy rub off, and a deep shine to my dark blue car. Of course I used their polish right before.

I've actually just used it like 20 minutes ago I was kind of skeptical but it's pretty amazing. I have the soft paste not the one in the bottle. I've read somewhere it's neither a wax or polish. Completely made by synthetic materials no wax or polish in it. More of a paint sealer. So I washed wax then nu finish and the results are by far the best I've used so far.

Never was a big fan of Nufinish. There are other products out there that are better and more advanced.

Regardless of the hype, NuFinish is indeed a polish because it does have abrasives for finish correction. Using NuFinish on some vehicles will introduce marring or swirls which is another indication of the abrasives present. Cleaner Waxes are also polishes because, again, they have abrasives. Normal sealants and waxes do not have any type of abrasives.

Agreed. I have a partially used bottle of NuFinish that I would give away to anybody that wants it.

My preference is Duragloss products for most applications. Most CarQuest's carry it - but I prefer to order online direct to insure fresh product.
