Taking care of bumper ding/scratches

Hey guys,

My 3rd gen is doing well, still scratch-less. Hard to believe it has a better paint job from the factory than my 06 civic, lot's of orange-peel on newer cars...

Current project is to get the daily driver Civic bumper fixed up, please share your thoughts.

Scratches are about 8 inches long, and the ding is a little smaller than a dime.

This is what I thought of roughly, please share your thoughts.I'm thinking:

1. Sand (grit?)
2. Add Tafetta white touch-up paint (does it have to be from Honda or is DupliColor okay?)
3. Sand
4. Rubbing compound
5. Meguiar's Step 1
6. Meguiars Step 2
7. Meguiars 26 wax

I have Meguiars Step 1 Cleaner, Step 2 Polish, and 26 Yellow wax in my garage. They are about 4 years old, do they ever go bad? I used them on my Acura 4 years ago with good results, but they have been sitting ever since.

I will post pics once I do the work, should be in the next week or two. I'm new to this, so any advice is greatly appreciated.
