How do you remove old tint?

Hey there folks, Im wanting to retint my windows on my 2K max, but I cant afford to have the old removed and the new installed, so I was curious to see if there was a cheap, easy, non-messy way to remove the original tint....somebody told me a steamer would work, is this true? thanks

Youtube it. Lots of good videos and tips. You'll find the preferred method of removal is with trash bags and ammonia, or with a steamer.

Ptatohed and I removed his tint a few months back with the ammonia method, worked like a charm.

Depends what window... If rear windsheild BE CAREFUL u can easily mess up ur defroster lines. I let the defroster heat up the window for a few minuets then took a razor blade to a corner and all peeled off in one peice... If the adhesive is left behind dont worry... Goo gone should get it off. But if it is to strong and goo gone doesnt work (happened to me) go to a store and get a bottle of rubbing alcohol, put on rag or paper towel and stuff works like magic...

Shampoo in a spray bottle and gently scrape it with a blade. You can also use wd40 for tough adhesive.
