New dyno results.

Well, i still don't have an afc yet but decided to dyno anyway. Instead i used my 3 pulls to test some theorys. I have pictures of the final dyno on my phone and i will upload them later.
Mods:
Intake, Hotshot headers, gutted cat, warpspeed b-pipe, greddy exhaust, UDP.
SAE
1st pull- 247.5whp 245.7wtq
2nd pull- [VI zip tied shut] 238.6whp 232.3wtq
3rd pull-[VI zip-tied open] 248.4whp 243.2wtq

My car is an 02 6sp max. I only had about 2 minutes of cool down time in between runs, so my numbers could have been better. The car was running alittle rich but nothing serious. Just thought i'd post the results.

The run was on dynojet. I took a picture of the run with my camera phone, b/c i didn't have a disk to save it to. I'll call them today and see if they still have the run on file.

Did you do it at SRT? If so, Mo has all the run files on the computer. You just need to bring a floppy disk to get a copy.

Btw, those are very nice numbers indeed....

That's odd...your car puts out that much power and it still sees 4th gen tail lights

Good numbers JP.

heres the part i don't understand...

when you zip tie the valve, the VI is stuck CLOSED...i have tried this before...and I know how the mechanism works...when you zip tie it, it stays CLOSED

when you want the VI to stay OPEN the whole time, you just remove the vaccum hose...it will stay open the whole time that way...

Does anyone have any pictures or drawings of what the internal geometry of the 2k2 VI is like?

basically its the opposite of the MEVI and oovi

you will notice that with the MEVI, if you zip tie the valve or whatever, the butterflies will be stuck open...same as the oovi

with the 2k2 vi, its ALWAYS open...the only time its closed is when you take off from idle...then it stays closed from the vaccum being sent to the actuator...when you hit VI at 3800 rpms, the ecu tells it to STOP sending vaccum and the valve opens up...

at rest, the valve stays open....if you zip tie the VI on the 2k2 VI, it will be closed the whole time

I just took the vacuum line off and plug it and zip-tied the butterfly value open so it wouldn't attempt to move from incoming air.
