Tuned 00VI Auto Dyno.

After a real long time of not being tuned I have finally done it. I tuned it myself using my lc1 wideband, laptop, and vafc2. My mods are Ypipe, catback, UDP, CAI, Straight pipe with cutout open, vafc2, 00vi, nismo afpr, i think thats it for power mods. Dynoed at 193whp and 195tq. I dont have the run files.

Nice dyno, fix those small dips in the a/f ratio so that it would be perfectly smooth. But its already very smooth. Good job. Dont forget to tell them about the timing advance.
BTW: why does it say your a/f ratio is above 14?

The dyno place reads leaner. on my wideband its almost exacly in the 13.5's

Those are the numbers I want to see on my setup. Do you know what type of dyno machine was used? And why there was no smoothing?

Your around 6 degrees advance timing over stock right?
Have you thought about the tranny? That may be your bottleneck now. Also, it won't hurt to put some shorty headers on.

I want to keep my car automatic, and thoes dyno numbers for being automatic i think are pretty good. thats what 5th gens 5sp with mods put down n/a sometimes, so im happy there. ofcoures if i did 5sp swap i would defently be over 200. but I like my auto.

It was a dynojet and i dont kno, they just dont do smoothing. Headers are on my to-do list and hopefully i can crack into 200's

I should be about 9 degrees advanced over stock.

Well I was talking more about a valve body or high stall torque converter. Just like you I'm auto and want to stay auto.

I don't know how your budget is, but for a cheap price you can't go wrong with SS Autocrome headers. I got mine off of here for $100.00. Also, on my to do list.

Have you looked into the cams yet like I mentioned. I have them sitting in my closet now but I really have no idea of when I'm going to install them. I first need to get the cam spacers/adapters.

wow that's significant. Didn't know a cutout could show that much gains.

Neither did i, to be honest, I just opened it for the fun of it. everyone was like "WTF" when they herd it while open it was cool lol. then i saw they dyno result and i was the one saying "wtf". on the street it dosnt feel faster though, maybe since its soo loud and you can feel the vibration on ur chest it knocks the senses out of you. time for the track.

Makes sense the cutout would be beneficial in the upper revs. And it's reflected by the #'s you got from it.

Wow my thoughts exactly. I dynoed 170 without a VI. Does that mean I would gain about 16hp from it? Whats the usual gain for a VI n/a 4th gen?

Congratulations - those are seriously good numbers....

What gear did you pull this dyno in ? - since with the shift_fast you can lock into one gear from rest... The results from the open cutout were great - glad to know it does make a difference. You need to put on slicks and hit the track!

Can't wait to see what else you do. Darn fine job with your tuning.

Thanx for the comments.
ajcool - In my case, i dynoed 167whp and 170tq without 00vi. So i basically gained 26whp. Usual gains from 00vi i think are about exacly 15ish or so at peak.

Grey99- Thanx. I dynoed in 3rd gear, i didnt lock in 3rd though. i didnt wanna sit there and explain to the guy what to do, so i just let him do wat he did. floor it after 3k. I am still waiting to find a front mount to put the inserts in, then i can go to the track. on the street though, the car pulls insane. I have to admit though, i did do a pretty nice job tuning, considering i had never done that in my life lol. took me a while and alot of wasting gas up n down the street, but i got it flat and perfectly at 13.5's.

Sweet, I can hit over 200hp with a cutout
Looks like an extended redline would help you as well

I made mine myself. i contacted Dallas from warpspeed, and told him to send me two flanges (one for ypipe side one for bpipe side), then i bought a cutout from summit (2.5 on the ends and 3" on the cutout), then i inserted the flanges Dallas made me into the cutouts ends and clamped it with U clamps.

so everytime i wanna open cutout, i just get next to the car, reach to the cutout plate and remove 3 wing nuts and plate comes off. (bout 10 seconds to do) and u got open cutout so u can terrorize ur neighborhood lol.

It was great doing so at the dyno shop. All the skittles (SRT4s) jumped up and were attentive! Looked like it was an episode of Meerkat Manor from Animal Planet!

Nice numbers. That incredible you gained 7 whp 3 wtq over a full catback with your cutout! That means people (like me) with stock cat back and cutout will gain even more!

Do you have a mechanical cutout, or do you just unbolt it manually? I have a cutout in my testpipe, but have been unable to find a place that can make the electric motor fit without banging up the floor or it scraping over every speed bump....got pics?

BTW- You said your wideband read richer than the sniffer at the dyno. Is this usually the case? When I dynoed my WB was reading around 13.0 at 7000, compared to 14.0 at 7000 from the sniffer. I assume I should put more faith in my WB than that sniffer...

Mine is manual. i sometimes scrape it on speed bump if i have the car full of poeple or if i go over the speed bump quick and let the car drop hard. ill take pics if you want. and i didnt have go bang on the floor either.

Oh. The motor is what is going to scrape, I'm not worried about the cutout. Without a motor, there is no reason to bang up the floor...

And tailpipe sniffers usually read leaner than a WB because they are further down stream, correct?

If you could take pics, that would be awesome. Is your cutout on the driver of passenger side? Angled?

My cutout is on the passenger side, yea i think the sniffer reads leaner. which is probably why my a/f was at 14.2's. and on my wideband its at 13.5. another dude there with my same wideband told me that their sniffer reads lean compared to our wideband that our wideband was more accurate.

Sweet numbers man, this is going to sound like a pure newb question but what is a cutout? Is it a hole in the exhaust before the muffler and resonator?

Well My set up is cai, Eu, with about 11 degrees advance, 00vi 5speed,Buget y pipe and stock exhaust. I made 195whp and about 192 torque. I need to redyno now that I go the greddy catback and the uderdrive pulley although the car does not feel any faster.
