Bolt on 2002 Max dyno

Okay before you say anything, this shop must have jacked up there readings for the dyno day. But it was $30 for three pulls. Which I got back because I made the highest N/A power of the day.
Mod list: 2002 max 6spd,PR CAI, hotshot headers, high flow cat, cattman 2.5 catback, SSIM, lightweight flywheel, clutch, ts reflash and emanage blue.
The car is on stock timing still and is running very rich, so there is room for improvement!

I kno thats was the first thing I said in my post!!! I was hoping for anything over 245whp. I dont really have any info on the dyno. I can say that me buddy dynod before me and made 265WHP with his rsx, he redynod at another shop yesterday and made 244WHP! I was really unhappy to see 280 but it sure as hell shocked everybody at the shop, so I was happy about that!

Why is that too high??? When jaypee did it it was o.k but now its not???? Not high for a maxima but I guess yes its high for his setup as the dyno states max power at 6800rpm and I see no such thing in the mod list about a raised rev and iirc EB doesn't raise revs

I shift at 8k on my tac so around 7800rpms. I told them to take it to 7500 during these dyno runs. I kno the numbers are high but even if they are off by 20whp that still makes for some really good numbers. on a side note I have yet to loose to anything VQ powered!

u arent shifting at 7800 rpms with a stock head, stock cams and stock oil pump ...the motor would go bye bye

with your current mods u should be around 255whp

You just answered your know question, the reason just people doubt these #'s are cause he does not have cams, advanced timing, corrected a/f maps, 3inch exhaust or a extended rev limiter to support his claim.

Clearly the dyno operator was trying to boost everyone ego by pumping up the #'s. My question is how is this guy shifting at 8k with a eb, either this guy is full of bs or leaving out alot of details

No need to stress the fact that the numbers are inflated guys, the OP clearly stated that in his original post and also explained that his friend showed about 20hp less when he dynoed at another shop.

Profile shows miami, FL. What shop was this?

It's clearly not a Dynojet, so now we cannot sit here and compare. Do you at least have the name of this place?

The car is on a base tune from wen it had a different exhaust on it, so it is just needs a retune for the new set up. I bought the car with most of the mods on it so unless the guy just gave me a built motor an failed to tell me then I shift my car at 7800 daily. as far as I know the only thing is the emanage blue which I dont see y it cant change the limiter.

^^ Yeah, I saw that too AJ..

Our tachs are off by a good bit, old news. Mine tells me I'm shifitng @ 7500 or so, and it's really only 7100 (TS).

Real question would be, how did you acquire the RPM signal, and what was the indicated max RPM the car saw on the dyno .. if we're going to nitpick that aspect ...

I've heard the name before but I know nothing about them though. Do you mind showing us a data log of you shifting to 8k since you're using the EB to tune?

It's perfectly possible that you could have bought the car with a built motor. But the main reason people are confused is that it is known that the EB cannot raise the rev limit on our cars. But we can with the EU. So there's a few possibilities here.

1. The previous owner found a way to raise the rev limit with te EB

2. The previous owner got a custom ECU reflash with an 8k rev limit

3. You're tach is 1.5k rpm off. (which is highly improbable)

4. The previous owner has the Technosquare flash with 7100rpm limit AND your tach is off by 800rpm.

You've just gotta excuse the others on the org sometimes, they dont really know how to be polite and ask legitimate questions to solve issues sometimes.

He probably has a TS reflash, ask him

A dyno will give you whatever numbers you want, not sure what the big deal is...

I am waiting on the previous owner to get back to me on what he did, so we have to wait on that one. but wen I say I shift a 7,800 I am talking on the tach which jumps around after every shift so i dont believe it to be to accurate at all.

so after reading the link it appears the dyno shop inflats their results by 30hp which puts this guy a around 250hp, that I can believe

also as I stated before this guy was either leaving out info or full of BS, happy to see your not full of crap but sad that you bought a modded car without knowing whats been done to it
