Classifieds: why put for sale, if you dont want to sell
Im a long time maxima enthusiast (on my third one now) but am fairly new to the forum. I would like to know if it is normal for people to list something for sale in the classifieds but not sell it. Confuzed? me too
I will leave names and items out of this as to not cause a finger pointing match, but a couple weeks ago I came across something I wanted in the classifieds. I pmd the seller and we agreed on a price and he sent me his paypal info. I was about to send the payment when I decided to ask one more question about the item. In his response to my question, he stated that he was no longer going to sell the item....WTF, dont list it, communicate with someone, agree to a price, give payment info, and then back out of the deal.
now, a second situation might be ending up the same way. came across something else i wanted in the classifieds. Seller listed a price followed by "OBO". so i pm the seller with an offer, he declines which is fine. so i pm him back and tell him no biggie, i will buy it for his asking price. This was almost a week ago, and although i have seen this person posting on other threads every day since, i have yet to hear a response from him???
so again, my question is, Why post something for sale if you dont really want to sell it?? Just kind of frustrating when you find something youve been looking for and its listed for sale so you get all excited thinking youll finally get what youve been looking for, then they back out and dont want to sell anymore....
sorry for the rant, just wanted to point this out to anyone who cares and vent for a second...

your sig is huge, check the general Maxima forum for sig guidelines.
perhaps they are douche bags, perhaps something changed on there end and it is no longer for sale, perhaps they thought you were being a nag and are suggesting you leave them alone.
you may try PMing, and posting in the thread. not everyone gets pop-ups saying they got a PM, and I never check mine, unless I notice I have an email saying I do (forum email is no longer my primary account), and others do the same thing.

i hate to say it but it's the nature of the beast.
who knows...they might had a mishap and now needs the part.
someone might've came in with a higher offer, who knows?
as with everything and anything in life...the contract is not final until there's money on the table.
