MOTY?...

i had a random thought for the MOTM and came across this idea, why not have a MOTY (maxima of the year) every january. every new year the site will have a poll for the site to vote on (maybe as soon as the MOTM for dec is posted) so it can have a month for people to vote and pick one of the 11 (11 because the first month is for the MOTY) MOTM from the previous year ( ex: january 2012, there would be a MOTY that would be picked from all the maximas that were selected from the year before and be posted as maxima of 2011). i know its to early to pick one but just thought i'd suggest the idea...

have one (MOTY) for each generation then an overall MOTY....possibly of all the MOTY generation winners, the overall can be selected from them.

great idea, but I have a hard enough time to remember motm, much less moty.
I definitely like the idea of moty for each gen, but it's hard enough to get a nicely modded 3rd gen for nomination, much less an actual contender (I can't imagine 1st and 2nd gens).

I like the MOTY idea, too. Although it could get awkward and complicated coming up with "7th gen of the year", "6th gen of the year", etc.

Keep it simple. Vote in January out of the 12 cars that won in the previous year (except for the April goof). And since 12 months is a long time, add the constraint that MOTM cars are still owned by the winning members. It's not uncommon for someone to get to the "end" of their modding hobbie, then move on.

THIS. Now what I'm wondering is, what happens if your car looks different than when you won MOTM? Because my car will look somewhat different compared to when I won and my mod list will be different as well.

If you're ride was good enough to be selected for MOTM, and you're still modding it, the odds are it's even better yet. In fact, it gives you even more of a chance for MOTY. I wouldn't worry it... unless you de-modded your car, which has certainly been done before.

Imagine a Polling Thread with 12 choices, representing the MOTM winners from the previous year, running the full length of January.

It would probably be a close vote.

I'm just wondering if I'd be allowed to take/submit new pics or if the voting will be based off of my old pics. I'm sure this applies to other people as well.

ok so here's how i see this going down...(let me know if you think it should be changed).

- MOTY would consist of the winners of MOTM and MOTQ of the year. So say 2011 MOTY would be the winners of MOTM/MOTQ during 2011.

- A poll will be set up where the community can vote for their fav car.

- If the car was updated/changed the winner can post newer pics (if they win). The vote will be on pics that they won MOTM/MOTQ with. (hope i'm explaining it right).

rochester....can you do the honors on creating the new logo please?

let me know if i left out any details. I'll get this going early in January once everyone calms down after their holiday running around and etc.
Dan

Since we're doing MOTQ then MOTY can probably be a different car entirely...?

great...welcome to the forum.

unfortunately there's not enough participation on the MOTM/MOTQ/MOTY to even visit this topic.
