Perhaps a tab under Maintenance & Care for "PAINT?"

It just seems that we have a seperate thread group for everything else, I mean we even have one for fluids discussion. A Group for "Paint," is prolly overdue as we just talk about it in the general discussion areas of the org. But realistically there are paint specialists just like there are Nitrus specialists, VQ30de specialists, etc... Just an idea to make the .org just that much greater.

That seems more like an armor-all/ how do you detail your car section danny. I was thinking more like, a section for paint how to's, touch up paint how to's, different types of paint techniques, maybe a few cute stickies with paint codes for the stock maximas for easy access by the community. Seriously danny, I posted a thread about 2 toning my max and there was a ton of people coming out of the woodwork either loving it, or hating it, apparently the paint job of our cars is something that there are very strong feelings about, but not only that there are quite a few paint guru's on here who are willing to contribute to the org with their expertise.

are you referring to actually painting the car? more of mixing activators, reducers, blending...paint choices like metallics and pearls?

with touch ups (brush) and how it apply i think it's more detailing IMO.

didn't think there was an interest in paint here.

also keep in mind it's also going to be more like a body work section instead of just paint. so it'll touch upon bondo use, glazing putty, welding/patch panels, use of duramix/automix/etc adhesives, metal bumping and straightening, sanding and sandpaper use, spray gun technique and set up, rust repairs, etc etc..(just thought of topics off the top of my head).

We'll see how it goes...if there's decent participation i'll leave it. if it's a ghost town then it'll get dropped and merged with detailing...fair enough?

I will be a frequent visitor to this section. My hood has so many rock chips and places where bird poop corroded right to the metal. It kills me to look at it, I mean I literally get so sad. I love the previous owners for only putting 91k on it in 12 years, but I hate them for having the hood and bumper need a full repaint.

Driving over the heavily salted Berkshire Mountains twice a day for the past 12 years heavily corroded my 98 MAX. I have spent hundreds of hours doing autobody work the last 2 years.

Next month When I replace the fenders on a friend's 2000 MAX I'll take pictures and add in some tips on how to do the job.
