What's up .org. My 2cents based on common and overlooked principles on any used vehicle. (Especially when there 15+ years old).

After purchasing your used vehicle first step to performance is assurance. Assurance your vehicle is capable of reliably serving all of its intended purposes. For the most part a retro daily that stands out, but don't forget the spirited driving characteristics that put a toll on already worn parts in its entirety. I've read it many times and see people skip the simple steps, called general maintenance and repairs. If your performance oriented then use that knowledge to bring back the vehicle to at least approved manufacturer specs and conditions. Spend a little extra part sourcing and the occasional do it yourself job can safe guard your investments. Ground up restorations take more time than money, unless your paying for the work, its both. Simple exchange of the aftermarket replacement parts that exceed oem standards and for parts thats vital to operation maintain its reliability with certified parts. My grandfather rarely uses the word cheap out, he replaces it with affordable. If its more affordable to get a custom exhaust, we all know the concept of how the bolt-on part works. Keep the same flange mating/bolting points or even add new ones if you have to for simple exchange of parts. Pass emissions and a simple Bolton return to your higher flowing system (even a high flow cat). Any modification to an engine is vital to its operation and tuning is an important factor. Engines wear naturally, under heavy driving loads already worn engines show stresses of wear. Simple engine kits like timing, rings+bearings, head+rod bolts, hd valve springs and a cleaning of factory etc... Can alter a persons views on a 15+ year old engine. Vehicles vitals that promote safety, comfort, and reliability should be main focus/ priorities and beginning of any project. After that, then I don't see the problem with properly matching the size, weight, wight of rim and tire with the stance and look intended with a drop in correspondence to performance and drivability. 2013 nothing new about something old. Just innovations
