Castrol GTX High Mileage oil
Unless you have oil leaks, stick with the Castrol GTX. The high mileage formula contains some esters to help swell old and worn seals.

I've not used Castrol HM. However I have used Penn HM in my Club Wagon that has 100K and a pesky leak. It didn't help the leak much at all. Oil consumption did lessen however...probably because the PHM oil is blended on the higher end of the viscosity range for a 30W oil. I used auto-rx to stop the leak, which it did in my case...so far. I'm not a zealot of that product trying to endorse it, but I did use it. From what I've read, Castrol HM is a good product. I debated between that brand and Pennzoil frankly. They are probably very comperable. I wouldn't use Maxlife.
I suspect one needs to stay with a high mileage oil for awhile, before any sustained improvements are seen. One or two oil changes aren't enough time. Don't ask me why I say that, just my "woman's intuition."
Nonetheless, I am going to stop using PHM at my next change. Aside from controling my leak, I see no value in running a higher cost HM oil. I want to see if the leak stays dead with a regular oil (Havoline) now that the auto-rx has worked it's hucus pocus.
