Used New Oil in car. Looks really promising.

About a month ago, i set the idle RPM's to 1 grand so as to take car of my sometimes laggy starts in 1st gear. That fixed the problem just fine.

Then yesterday, i was changing the oil, and used Quaker State's Peak Performance 10w-30. This morning the car idled at 1,500 RPM. I cranked it back down to 1 grand, and my car seems to run alot better and the engine temp seemed to drop a few degrees.

Thought i should share since most engine oils/addatives i have seen dont do $#!7

Mobil 1 Fully Synthetic...Best oil money can buy

all the newer synthetics allow you to switch back to dyno oil if you want to and go back to syn..why anyone would want to do that is beyond me. go to synthetic and call it a day

Whats the reason to this; most every mechanic I talked to said it was okay to switch back after using synthetic.

Its ill advised to mix different brands.

Castrols Synthetic Blend was the worst oil I ever had analysed from my car. Don't use it.

Castrol GTX - Conventional
Mobil 1 & Amsoil - Synthetic

Those are the best 3 oils you can use in your Maxima.

Download Bills spread sheet and see the results for yourself.

Allow me to clarify, you could, but that would be like taking a kids vitamin after having used GMC Mega Man vitamins for over a year. You still get what you need, but now your engine is not getting what it is used to as far as synth addatives.

That makes absolutely no sense what so ever...the car is digesting the additives.

Best laugh I have had today though.
