Transmission Fluid Flush

Hey guys this is my first post. I bought a 96' maxima GXE only a little over a week ago and the inspection checked out great. The only suggestion the mechanic had was that i should flush the transmission fluid. Can someone tell me what this constitutes? This is my first car so i'm definitely a car newb. Thanks!

check out the "Fluids and Lubricants" section of the forum. there is a thread there called "Sticky: How to flush automatic transmission fluid? What ATF to use? How to check the level?". it should answer all your questions.

Welcome aboard Jake. Do as Fishhouse has suggested, you'll find all the info you'll need there. Basically a tranny flush replaces all of the 10 quarts of transmission fluid in the car. THe shop will hook up some lines to your tranny and start a pump which pushes out the old fluid and fills it in with new fluid.
