Wow, what a difference a filter makes

Just changed the oil/filter on my '03 after having used the Mobil 1 (M1-105) filter for the first time during the past 3,500 miles, and i was AMAZED at the little amount of "grit" left in the bottom of my oil drain pan after i dumped it. Only a few specks this time.

Previously, I'd used Fram (ugh) and Wix filters and NEVER had so little amount of crap left in the oil like this

I'm a believer now. Thanks Bill and others who recommended this filter...it's worth $11. I'm a Mobil 1 guy from now on

Note for others: M1-105 does NOT fit VQ30 Maximas...ONLY VQ35s.

I too am using the M105 filter. Do you detect any rubbing with your oversized filter with 225 series tires on that SE? I upsized to 225/55/17 on my 03 GLE and don't know if I'm hearing rubbing or my imagination.

I thought I read a thread here once about the m105 having fitment issues on oversized tires with the VQ35, but I can't find it now...

I have been using the M1-110. Exact width of the OEM but about an inch longer. No rubbing at all. Didn't know about the M1-105. Will have to check out the difference; but I am extremely satisfied with the M1-110.

Just changed to an oversize filter this weekend (Bosch 3320 a M1-105 equivalent) with no rubbing issues. Watching it closely and making sure everything is fine. So far, so good.
