1992 GXE Tranny and Oil Fluid

How much and what type tranny fluid should I put in my 1992 Nissan Maxima? I have 215,---k on my car.

And what type Oil should I put in it also?

I am asking because my miles are high, and I don't know if that makes a difference or not... (5w30?)

I have been reading up a lot about this, and it all gets confusing.

Auto or 5 speed?

With 215k miles, stick with a quality dino oil like Castrol GTX. In warmer weather (April-October) stick with the 10w-30 grade. Castrol GTX 5w-30 is fine for the winter if it gets below 20 deg F.
