Title says it all.

To get the initial $1.28/qt. price, you do need a coupon from a Pep Boys flyer in your local Sunday newspaper or at a Pep Boys near you.

0.88/qt. for this oil is a great buy.

BILL99GXE: What state are you in? The Pep Boys here in CT isn't running that deal. I also didn't see it adverstised in their online circular.

It's a regional advertisement, so it may not run in certain parts of the country.

It is at least valid in the southeast and midwest......

It won't be in the online circular, but a paper circular in the Sunday paper.

OK. I never get their print circular in my weekend newspaper. However I just visited their web site and see they have an online rebate form for all their November deals. They're offering a $4.80 rebate on cases of dyno (Penzoil, Valvoline, Quaker State and Castrol). I only buy oil when its on sale at Sears for $1.29 per quart, so I'll purchase a case at Pep Boys this month if they're selling it for under $1.69 per quart. Thanks for the heads up!

The coupon in the circular is for a full case of Castrol GTX for $1.28/qt. Then, the .40/qt rebate is in addition to the $1.28/qt after coupon price. It's probably not a good deal if the coupon isn't available.

I don't know about that. In the NE, Castrol GTX is $1.69/qt. I would be happy with it at $1.29. Of course I would be happier if I coul get it for less. I'm becoming more and more partial to Chevron Supreme as my recommendation for a high quality dino oil. For $1.08/qt it's putting up some very impressive results so far.

I'm gonna wait until the next sale at Sears. The Pep Boys store closest to me in Bridgeport is selling Castrol for $1.99, while Quaker State, Penzoil and Valvoline cost between $1.79 and $1.89. That's the same pricing I've seen at the Costco stores nearby.

Castrol will regularly go on sale in my area for $1.20 to $1.30/qt. with no 1 case minimum purchase, so unless you needed a lot of oil it's only a good deal. The .40/qt rebate makes it an unbeatable deal.

Until I see Chevron results on Maximas, the GTX remains the dino oil of choice.

Would that be why there's Chevron with the Auto-Rx in your cars now

Well, it was until this GTX went on sale....now my 2k to 3k run after Auto-Rx will be on Castrol GTX.

Just changed the Auto-Rx/Chevron out of the 99 with this GTX....

My 94 still needs the additional second flush, which won't happen until the 2 to 3k on the non-AutoRX "flushing" interval. I may extend it a bit before the second AutoRx so I can directly compare a 3k interval between the Amsoil Series 2000 and the Chevron supreme.....so that would be one at least.

Sorry, I'm a slave to cheap pricing.........

GOOD NEWS! They're going to be running the $0.88/qt deal in my area beginning Sunday! You can confirm the deal will be available in your region by checking out the instore circular at the PB web site.
