Used Mobil1 in everything for years. 5w30 in everything exept the cycle which is 20w50. I like to buy it in the 5 Qt jugs from Walmart. Simple ,neat and you have a nice container to take to recycling. I think it is probably best to start using it around 5k or so. It may not be the best lube for break in. It could be TOO good for ring seat etc.

10W-30 is only good from 0 to + 100 degrees F. 5W-30 is better for the winter. It goes from - 20 to + 100 degrees F.

I will start using Mobil1 10w-30. I live in south Texas and it doesn't get cold down here at all. 30F is probably the lowest and maybe only for a week.

Mobil Drive Clean 5W30 or 10W30

I just changed out the Quaker State oil and didn't like the performance of it much (it was on sale for $.50/qt ). I'll just use Mobil all the time now and I'll get a case when it comes on sale again

15W-50 during the summer and 10W-30 during the winter, a bit heavy, but a beautiful clean oil shimmer on every change, Mobil 1 btw.

Penzoil 10W-30, change every 3k, use within every 40,000 km
After 40,000 km,Mobile 1 10W-30, change every 3k.....use for 20,000 km to clean the carbon deposit within the engine

I'll stock up on Castrol next time it comes on sale, but I kind of like the Valvoline more.

I use Amsoil Series 2000 0w-30, a very fuel efficient viscosity and should be fine for your 2k3 ride.
