Confused on Motor Oils and restorers, help

I have 91 Maxima SE, auto, with 185,000 miles. I've told on higher mileage cars 20-50w is recommended because its thicker, so that's what I've been using. I'm planning on keeping my car for a long time. What is the best oil for the buck? Nothing to expensive but average. I do my own oil change and wanna put the best stuff in it. Also, help on the engine restorers. I've been using Restore additive. Don't know if it works or not but haven't seen any problems.

20w-50 is too thick. Engine restore fluids are the dung.

Get a compression check and a leak down test to determine the engine's condition.
