Hey guys, I have got a question. I am going to do an transmission oil change in my 1996 GXE 5 speed (274000kms) this weekend and I am wondering if any of you has experience with Royal purple gear oil. I've read bad reviews of their engine oils but I wonder if it's the same about their gear oil... I would love to be able to compare them but I cant find any technical data on redline's site. There seems to pretty much be a draw between redline mt90 and amsoil 2000 here on the forums but I was wondering where royal purple Max-gear sat in all of that... Any input will be greatly appreciated !!!

Thanks all

Their lack of reputation in real world cars is why this brand isn't explicitly recommended. There are other products that you mentioned that are proven and worth using. If you want to have safety in numbers, then I would go with the brands that have been used by others here.

Sorry, I didn't actually read ''reviews'' I read on this forum that it was actually degrading a lot faster than conventionnal synthetics because of it's polymer additives... Problem is I dont really remember where I got it and I'm not even sure it was polymer... I know it has something to do with particles that degrade that eventually agglomerate together and clog some of the smaller areas...
