Seafoam + Maximas = pics :)
Well today antonthegrey came over and wanted to use some seafoam, and since to me playing with seafoam is about as much fun as playing with fire, I bought a can too
result:
now....... The answers to the questions:
For the VG-
VG Front
VG Rear
For the VE-
VE Vacuum
Putting the brake booster hose into the seafoam bottle = Crushed bottle.
The wierd thing is Anton's engine doesn't sound as loud anymore

Hey, maybe it stole some horsepower n:
I used the brake booster for mine, do you think that it got to all of the passages as well as using the TB location? I poured the seafoam into a container and used that so I could see what I was doing instead of sticking it into the whole bottle, worked great

where all this smoke coming from?
is it coming from the tail pipe or what?
#5
When I used that sea foam I smoked out my whole neighborhood just about. I was worried that someone would of called the fire department. Then I took my Maxima out for a ride and I was smogging out the street so I just had to stay in the neighborhood, that smoke did get pretty thick. It reminded me of Spyhunter with the smoke screen it was that bad. But afterwards when the smoke finally stopped I noticed that the engine ran much smoother and cleaner.

The smoke comes from your tailpipe, your exhaust, because the seafoam goes through your motor. I used it on my max the first time w/ masssmail and it came out from underneath my car and from the tailpipe, gotta replace my exhaust! I'm still wondering about whether or not I should use the TB vacuum hose or the brake booster hose Mr. Gone.

The brake booster one will only really get half of the engine.

1.) for a vg should i use the brake booster or the tb line,
2.) should i poor it in to the engine?

for the VE, use the one that's right at the top of the throttle body. works great.
you want to SLOWLY suck this stuff into the car and let it take a while to go through the system, not clog everything up..
using the brake booster line is wayy too big and its possible that you could mess up the engine by sucking too much in at once.

Thanks Mr.Gone, I'll have to do it through that hose instead. Did you just follow the directions on the bottle and let it suck the whole thing down first and let it sit for five minutes or what? Good thread BTW.

Meh, there are a few different methods, lol. I just do whatever one I feel like, sometimes I'll just skim it the whole time, other times I'll stall it. Today I mixed it up, little skimming, little stalling
Matt is right, dont put the full bottle on the brake booster line, we just used that because my tube fit perfectly inside of it
I was going to use the line on top like Matt said, but my hose fit perfectly on the side ones, so I just used one of those (it still flows more than enough to stall the engine).

I just noticed Matt's post above mine and I think I'll try that hose. I've never let it suck the foam in fast enough to kill the motor. maximagxe90, I hope these previous few posts answered your questions too. 1) Use the TB vacuum line and 2) Don't pour it in, let the vacuum hose suck it in, slowly. Thanks for the info Matt and MrGone, looks like it's time to smoke the neighborhood again.

Clean engine bay. Yes that's the line I advised everyone to use. BTW. Your cone is sucking up the hood insulation. I had to drill another hole in the filter bracket so it would lay 1-2" lower and not hit the hood insulation.

Use the product last saturday, and it work great. That was until I got pull over by the local cops for having too much smoke coming out of my exhaust. But I'll take the ticket any day with the way my car is running now after using sea foam.

-Add it to the crankcase to clean off lifters and rings, pcv valve system, and other parts
-Add it to the fuel tank to clean injectors, clean out carbon, lubricate upper cylinders, and stabilize the fuel
-Put it into the intake manifold to clean carbon build up, give smoother idle, clean intake valves and pistons, clean catalytic converter, and restore power and pickup
I kind of paraphrased and only included what pertained to our motor. This thread is talking about sucking it into the intake by the throttle body vacuum hose and getting rid of carbon build up, cleaning valves and pistons and what have you. I would recommend doing it to any motor as long as you know what you are doing.

I'd love to see some before & after photos of anyone that used this stuff, especially on a Max engine. I'd volunteer, but I'm nowhere near comfortable enough to go taking my engine apart. Do you guys advise using the entire bottle if you're going to have it clean out the intake manifold? I'm also assuming that when you add it to the crankcase, it'll break down your oil's viscosity, which is why you'd need to have your oil changed soon afterwards, and of course, putting it in the gas tank is self-explanatory....
I'm just curious as to how much of it should I consider getting when I plan to do this. Will 2-3 bottles be enough??? I guess the best thing would be to do it all three at once, then get your oil changed and be done with it for awhile. I'd like to do this to Pops' Caravan and Moms' Lex since it works as well as you guys claim...
Please let me know if I'm on the right track in understanding this. I figure that's ultimately what we're all in here for is to help each other out by sharing info to get the most enjoyment out of these cars we love so dearly. If anyone has a photo of a VG and can point out the hose that us VG owners would use, please post it as I'm a man, and being the visual creature that I am, I must be able to see what you're talking about...
Much Luv to the Maxima fam!!

That was awesome!!!
After reading this post this morning I went out and purchased some seafoam for my 96 Max. I connected a long vaccum hose to the vaccum line on the FPR and let her rip. The cloud of smoke that resulted was awesome, the neighbors kids where cheering during the process. I had about three friends around and all thought it was great. I drove around a little to get all of the carbon out and it did take a while for it to stop blowing smoke. That was a lot of fun and I plan to do it to my 2k2. This time though I am going to do it while a friend is to see how big of a cloud we can get going.
