I have read the stickies and numerous threads about this but I still have a question. Motorvate's site says that the engine holds about 2 litres and the rad holds about 5 litres. So once the system is pure distiled water how will topping off the radiator with 100% coolant give a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water?

Or should I just go cheap and drain/fill the radiator with a premix of 50/50 to be on the safe side. Thanks.

 

What I do is keep flushing until there is ~100% distilled water.

Then I dump the radiator and add whatever amount of coolant you need, ie if it's 7-liter capacity and you want 50/50...dump in ~3.5-liter of coolant and then top off with water until full. Plus, I throw in a bottle of water wetter.

 

what do you do with the liquid as your flushing? Couple big 5 gal drums? Where do you dispose you coolant?

 

distilled water... damn, gotta head to the supermarket (can't use water from the garden hose).

 

What is the capacity of the 00-01 maxes? I'm flushing mine as we speak.

 

Probably makes sense that if you have 2 liters in the engine you put in 2 liters of coolant to make a 50/50 and then top up the rest with a 50/50 mix.
