How do i check my 5sp Tranny Fluid?
You can't really know whether it should be changed without going simply by miles (anywhere from 30k to life on the fluid, depending upon which source you go by). Altnernatively you could send a sample off to get analyzed, but what's the point, since you might as well replace it if you're going that route. You could look at it and see how it looks also.
Anyway, to your question on how to check it. Get under the car (you'll need to jack it up or put it on ramps), and there is a bolt that takes a 1/2" ratchet. Undo that bolt, and put your finger in. Ideally the car should be level (so you can undo the bolt and then lower the car slowly). The fluid should come just up to the fill hole to the point where it would leak out if anymore went in.
