Any side effects of having too much ATF?

Well, finally got around to doing the DR Mod, Hayden tranny cooler, and tranny flush. Took me two days and 12 qts of Mobil 1 ATF. Anyway, as I was checking ATF levels I seemed to have gotten it right after numerous tries.

I followed the method by checking levels when HOT as suggested in the STICKY. My level was right in the middle of the HOT range. "Awesome" I thought. I went back in, got a soda, and decided to check it one last time. WTF? Now it was reading a bit above the HOT range. Do take note that I had been driving around some so engine was hot and this was with my tranny cooler installed as per the FAQ. Hmmm. So now what? Do I need to drain it some or will it be okay?

On a side note, I decided to my engine oil level and was shocked to learn that it too was way over. Granted my engine was hot so I guess I'll check again when it cools. I know I only put <4.5 qts of oil.

ive always heard it can cause air to be entrained and affect clutch operating pressures and shift quality. some have mentioned foaming of the fluid but i believe that where it was severely overfilled. in some makes, the fsm states to overfill but ive never heard of that practice with nissan.

I would think overfilling would cause higher fluid pressures, which may wear down the pump and/or seals that are exposed to the higher pressure. Not 100% sure on that, just a guess.
