Power Steering Fluid…Still Confused

Did read the “Stickies” - "Power Steering Fluid Removal and Replacement"... After emptying the reservoir…“Replace with Dexron II or Dexron III depending on the year of the car”. “Procedure will only change about ½ of the power steering fluid”

Is it ok to use Dexron III (or Dexron III synthetic) when the “book” recommends DexronII (when you know the end result will be a half and half mixture of II & III and the “III” may be synthetic)?

(Seems the ATF manufacturers claim Dexron III and Synthetic Dexron III is compatible with Dexron II)

Dextron III is the equivalent of dextron II. Just use III,it won't hurt nothing.

Did you use Prestone "Power Steering" fluid?? I looked Prestone "but" found it is not the receommended fluid - Dexron II or III ATF.
