Mobil 1 users, come on in!

I'm curious to know when you guys are changing your oil. I've heard conflicting reports about how long Mobil 1 10W-30 is good for. 3K, 5K, 8K, 10K...whatever. So when are you guys changing your oil?

I have mostly highway miles and I drive the car hard, so 5k oil intervals with blackstone analysis (which says I can push it farther)

since the filter has to be changed every 3500, i usually say "**** it, new oil while im at it too". 3500 miles is like every 3 months for me so i dont mind it.

Every 3750mi w/ the 15208-9e0000 filter

I do alot of hard city driving, then every 2 weeks or so I do some 250 mile high speed sprints between miami and orlando.

How many of you actually get your oil analyzed? Everybody has their own idea of how long you can run your oil. But only an analysis will tell you if the oil is still holding up.

5k here for my max. the oil test taken at 4500 gives good reading. I dunno if nissan filter is able to handle longer drain period.

~7k for my audi.

Next oil change, Im gonna do an analysis. Im sure that the oil can go much further than 3750mi, but nissan is quite adamant that I follow their routine if I intend to keep my stupid warranty.

Read it again.

We change the FILTER at 5k intervals. We change the OIL at 10k intervals.

There is never an old filter used with new oil.

I change mine around 5000 mi, but according to Blackstone reports I'm pretty sure I could make it 8000 no problem, maybe more. I basically change it in the fall, so I don't have to freeze my butt off doing it later, and sometime in the spring because it's getting nice and sometimes once in the summer just because I can, or beat the heck out of it at the track and feel bad if I don't.

Every 6 months or 5000 miles, whichever comes first (usually 5K). Makes it easy to remember to change it.

I change my oil every 6 months (sometimes less if I am bored) regardless. I usually drive the car about 1500 miles a year, so I guess I change my oil about every 750 miles or so. I use Mobil 1 and the Toyota filter commonly used with the VE engine.

In my QX4, I change it every 3k miles, since my wife drives that thing all over.

Are you serious about this? How do you not get caught? What do you consider high speed?

Average speed for the Orlando to Miami sprint is 104.39mph.....there were some higher speeds and a few lower ones. I have a valentine one, that helps me stay out of trouble. I wont lie, I have been caught.

I haven't found a low cost source for Mobil 1; usually just buy it at Walmart by the case.

Yeah, as soon as they got you with laser your screwed. You do it odd times with minimal traffic? I can't imagine making it if your all by yourself on the road. The laser will get ya.

Laser doesnt have enough range on the open highway, they use Ka band. And if you know what you are doing, you can do it in mild traffic. Ask pedro, he has seen the way we drive
