Changing oil tomorrow...

...and few questions to ask. (i read the sticky, but just wanna hear some updated opinions, maybe there's something new on the market)

Have 98 SE 5 speed w/92K miles on it. Last oil change was 5K miles ago and used synthatic (or whatever).

What oil is best to use? how much should I buy? Anything else I can add to my engine to make it run smoother/better?

thnkx all

Sounds like you might as well stick to synthetic. Mobil 1 or Amsoil are the two best out there. Of course a Mobil 1 filter is a must. As far as additives if you engine is tight I wouldn't use anything.

mobil 1 oil, oem filter.

as far as making your engine run smoother, check all the typical tune-up stuff before you use any additives.

Very best... I would say Mobil 1 oil with either a Nissan OEM filter or Mobil 1 filter..

As far as I know the OEM filter has not been discontinued, where the heck did you hear that?

How can Nissan discontinue to make filters for vehicles?

Either Mobil 1 or Amsoil and either the K&N or Mobil 1 filter. Both filters are almost identical and both are made by champion labs.

I am not sure about the Nissan filter being discontinued, which part# are you talking about? You should be able to get the Mobil 1 105 filter on there. Do it, it's the biggest and best filtration!

the mobil 1 105 filter is for the vq35 only.

the discontinued filter is for the ve30.

the oem filter is several bucks cheaper than the mobil 1 filter, too. i'm sure the mobil one is good but i'd just as soon take the oem filter, even if the price were the same.
