quick question about chevron techron

Bought a bottle the other day. Read that you should do this when your tank is almost empty and due for an oil change. I just got an oil change, but would really like to see if it makes a difference (especially in fuel economy). Is it worth it to run it even though I wont get an oil change in another 2k? I'm just impatient.

The almost empty tank part is right to help it mix, but this is going into your gas tank so it has nothing to do with an oil change

Yes, it is done every 3000 miles which translates for most people into every oil change. They even include a little windshield sticker on the bottle packaging where you write the mileage for the next treatment just like an oil change sticker.

it has nothing to do with oil change. the oil change is just a hint to remind u to dump in a bottle. theyre basically saying "drop in a bottle at every oil change" which is the same thing as every 3k mile

This is kind of off the subject, but if you ALWAYS use Chevron gas, why would you put the same stuff in concentrated form every 3k miles? Just seems like a marketing (see money making) ploy to me.

I almost always go to Chevron because ours gives a free car wash with every 10th fill and I use the carwash to clean our QX4 (I only hand wash the Max).

They want that "tankfull of treated gas" to be used up JUST BEFORE it's time to change the oil so the impurities that the Techron cleans out will be drained out as soon as possible. That would be much better than having it in the oil for 1k,2k or3k miles.

i've heard only great things aboubt chevron techron (meaning no negatives) so i'm giving it a try. I used redline fuel treatment once and i did feel a smoother idle. Also i have a code for a bad o2, so i'm hoping (praying is more like it) that mr. chevron would lean something out. man thats just wishful thinking.

Forget Techron and stick with FP (Fuel Power) by www.lubecontrol.com . FP will dissolve the deposits, not just break them up into harmful chunks.

Read up on FP at BITOG. Best fuel system cleaner on the market by far.
