should i use redline for notchy feel?

i had my new clutch in for about 2 months, and prior to that i had a grind in 3rd in the higher rpm's (mainly shifting fast), and in cold mornings hard to get into 2nd until car warmed up, and overall really notchy gears,. So my clutch went, and i figured a new clutch would help. it did a little, but it still is rather notchy and still same problem in the mornings with 2nd. Really dont know if this is a common maxi problem, (i heard it was)? but do you think Redline would fix these problems?

Thanx

hey try going to bobistheoilguy.com and you'll get way more responses, those guys know their oil. I would think it would definelty help, i got it in my civic and it is a bit smoother.

It probably won't fix the problem, but it may help. You can also try Amsoil. Amsoil is a tad slicker.

Good advice. You might try searching the BITOG section GearOil Trans, etc.

I believe that some folks have mixed 50/50 the Redline MT90 and Redline MTL for smoother cold weather performance in Hondas. I am not sure about Nissans, though. The MTL is GL4 rated so you are fine with the specs and it is thinner than the MT90 (70w-85 vs. 75w-90).

i have mt90 and it feels worse to me than what was in there. i have a short shifter so that could be some of the reason, but i can feel a difference between the oils. i dont like the mt90. i mixed mtl and mt90 for a friend, his G20 shifts nice.

Trying the Redline certainly can't hurt. I'm using it and I like it. It is an $8 per quart investment that is worth a try.
