Er need some advice

I have 114,908 miles, last oil change done at 111,103.. last oil used was Pennzoil 10w-30 i believe.

Im planning to do an oil change sometime today, but i wanted to get some advice first. Im thinking i want to use Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30?

i live in NJ and the winters can be kind of harsh, and the summers brutal.

- Tips / advice / recommendations? im open

A number of posters here with that many miles on their Max report small oil leaks when they go to synthetic. The reported reason is that the oil molicules in synthetic are smaller and more uniform than in Dino oil.

If you can stand the possibility of oil leaks, the M-1 5W30 is a good choice for the weather you experience. Amsol also makes a good synthetic. The change to synthetic is your call, just be warned about the leak probability.

I use M-1 10W30 in my Max (switched at 7,500 miles) and have had no problems. I will go to M-1 5W30 when I use up all of the heavier oil I had for a previous vehicle.
