Redline products are extremely good products. I wouldn't go as far as to say they are the best especially with the high price tag associated with them. You can get better products for a lower cost.

MT-90 in my tranny since 30K miles. It made the synchros much smoother above freezing temps. However, below 30 degrees and before the gear oil reaches operating temperatures, it goes through a phase where it's much notchier than the original factory fill (nasty enough to warrant double clutching for about 5-10 minutes).

i have the mt-90 in my 6spd....and let me tell you...it made a world of a difference...currently I have the home-made STS from SR20den....and this thing is NOTCHY as a ****....but having mt-90 in the transmission...and doing the white lithium grease mod to the pivot ball....it makes the transmission shift silky smooth....i would definitely recommend mt-90 to anybody

MT-90 virtually eliminated the notchiness of my STS, especially when going from 5th to 4th. Great stuff!

Im debating on whether to go REDLINE or MOBIL1 SYN.

I certainly agree with this comment. I too changed to MT-90 at 30K miles and now have 37K miles.

I also agree with this comment:
"MT-90 in my tranny since 30K miles. It made the synchros much smoother."

This is the only Redline product I have any experience using, and is the sole basis for my vote above.

I have used both Mobil 1-ATF (60KM) and Redline D4 ATF (20KM). I think Mobil 1 ATF is smoother. Next time, I'll go back to Mobil 1 ATF. No change in mileage.

I am currently in a rinse cycle of Auto RX with Chevron Supreme 5W30 dino in my 01 I30. When it's over I'll switch to Red Line 5W30 with 7500 OCI with a UOA at 5K at first. I have used RL products for years in other vehicles and it is superb. I also question the price/value ratio. The Nissan engines are known to be easy on oil and Rl may be overkill.
In my 99 Acura SLX (akaTrooper) the 3.5 L has been problematic for some people because of oil consumption. The RedLine has the lowest NOACK Volatility in the business. It simply does not burn up very easily. My 3.5L Isuzu engine burns a half quart every 3500 miles even when four wheeling in Moab, Mojave etc. Since we go wheeling alone at times, I prefer the security of RL in the SUV. I can't afford a lubrication failure in Death Valley.

Where is the best place to get redline products for cheap? I read that Autoil.com was supposed to be the best, but that site doesn't exist anymore. Anyone know of another place?

Yes. All of this info is 6 months old, and the prices may be higher.

When I replaced mine in the 04 6-Speed, I noticed the difference with the first shift. I had about 30 K miles on the original fluid from the factory.

By myself, following the directions in the stickie. I had to buy a funnel with a long pipe to get to the filler hole.

Before you go with mailorder, check some local speed shops or independent parts places. The typical sale price for Redline products is around $8 per quart. It will be less trouble to haggle with your local Redline dealer than to wait for the mail.

MT-90 in my 5 speed, didn't notice a huge difference between the new fluid and the old, mainly because my tranny had just been replaced (and filled with an unknown fluid). I will be interested to see how it feels with an SRE short throw...I will find out in a week!!! I can't wait....
It was worth the pricetag for the piece of mind that this stuff is good...

I use Redline MT-90 and water wetter, and have been happy with both. Their motor oil is a bit more $$ than I feel like spending for oil, though. The MT-90 smoothed out the tranny somewhat and is much smoother cold start shifting as well.

I also like www.redlinegoods.com for custom leather stuff in the car

I ALSO like www.RedlineMax.com (my sponsor for autocross) for maxima performance and "styling" parts and accessories (shameless plug)

OK, I said great, but that is only for the gear oils. I have used MTL/MT-90 in several transmissions and it is great for improved shifts.
If you do some research you will find that the base stocks that redline uses are better than conventional oil, but not as good as the PAO's that Mobil uses.
I will be running only Mobil 1 in the turbo Maxima.

MT-90 is indeed great stuff. It is one of only a few mods that made an extremely noticeable difference. Doesn't it take 3.5 or 4 quarts? I don't think 3 quarts is enough. I got mine from myoilshop.com as well, seemed to be the best price. Good luck finding it cheaper locally.

It depends what year Max you are driving. The 6th Gen takes less than the older Max's.
