Using Kerosene for a Motor FLush?

Well it seems that the new "old" trick that has me starting this thread is the use of Kerosene.
I was told that draining two quarts of oil and adding about 2 qts Kerosene to your engine will clean the insides likes no other. Obviously you dont drive it and only let it idle for about 5 minutes before replacing the oil and the fiilter again.
Intresting because kerosene is main ingredient in most of the over the counter engine flushes. I am little concerned about the cylinder walls and piston rings but then again im sure it has some lubricating properties after all it is not water.

Why am I considring this? I purchased a 92 VE maxima for 200$ and the VTC tick horribly. I will ground them, I already ordered 4 toyota filters, and use a high quality motor oil. I was wondering using this to help with backpressure and get a few more months outta the engine. It only has 137k and My GF will be driving it as a daily driver.

What do you think?

Kerosene (or any other other OTC engine flush)
or nothing?

thanks
RH

Kerosene is a no no in my opinion, as are otc flushes.

Auto-RX is great but it will run you about 1/4 the cost of the car for 2 treatments, imo its still worth it but thats up to you. also just so you know if your not 100% satisfied you can get ur $$ back. IE if it doesnt fix your problems theyll give u your money back (as long as your problem is possible to be fixed by it). IF you really want only a few more months outta it then you can try just about anything in it, although and this is one of the few times id reccomend this, id use either MMO or Seafoam in the oil.
