This isnt for my max, Im sticking with the Mobil 1 for sure...its for my Fathers 94 Ford Van.
He wants to go cheaper route so I told him to look into Pennzoil Synthetic so Im doing some research for him.
Anyone know the price difference and if its even worth going with the Pennzoil or tell him to stick with the Mobil 1 ??
I know I can get the Mobil one at walmart for pretty cheap, but what does the Pennzoil go for ??

Well, every Walmart around here stocks Pennzoil on the shelves right next to the Mobil 1. $4.52 vs $5.38 for the M1. 5Qt jugs...$19.98 vs $22.something for M1.
Worth it? Only u can determine that.

Well matty, I don't know how much your dad likes his 94 Ford van, but you could use any oil as long as he changes it at regular intervals. Mobil 1 for a van is severe overkill IMHO.

I think that applies to the Pennzoil dino oil. I believe their fully synthetic is better than that. I currently use Mobil 1 in my Max and Pennzoil fully synthetic in my Dodge Ram pickup truck -- I got the Pennzoil at very good prices a few years ago. The Mobil 1 is obviously better, but price also has a consideration in trucks with large oil capacity.Originally Posted by nismos14

I think this applies to the Pennzoil oil from the 1970's. I hope you're not talking about the old WAX stories of pennzoil from way back in the day. (I have to ask since some people still believe this to be true) I don't really like pennzoil dino oil either but I don't think it's bad stuff.Whats not to understand man? Without knowing much about Mobil1 or Pennzoil the biggest difference would be Mobil1 is a GroupIV oil and Pennzoil Platinum is a Group III.
