Amsoil Vs. Redline Manual Trans FLuid

i am about to do the 5th gen clutch setup in my car, and was wondering whether to put in Amsoil MTG or Redline MT-90? Just need some insight from people that have used both and how they compare/contrast eachother.

Thanks

MT-90 is what I recommend. I run it in my miata and love it. I ran it in my SE-R as well and it did well.

redline MT-90 if you can readily get it in your area. Otherwise they are both on a order basis most of the time

a better or worse comparison is hard to judge, especially since its so subjective.

Two factors should be of concern:
1) price (are you willing to spend that amount)
2) availabilty (how easy is it to get it?)

My local dealer sells redline for $8 bucks a bottle and thats why I use it.

i use mt-90 in my 2003 max and i ordered it from summitracing.com, they send you a hat, stickers and a catalog and some other papers not worth mentioning. I think they had the best price too.

I have used redline products for years. They make great stuff. I can't comment on Amsoil, as I have never used any of the stuff, but some people swear by them. I really don't think you can go wrong either way.

*Brief Amsoil review*

Ok, having had the tranny fluid in my car now for 3 days most of which were below freezing, I can say that I am impressed thus far. The shifting does feel better, although it felt a bit notchy, but that may just be in my head. Over all, I am happy with the purchase and recommend it over the stock crap.

nupe500,
After I replaced my tranny fluid to Redline MT-90 in the spring, it was still cold outside and the shifting was a bit notchy. After car warms up, shifting was as smooth as butter. I took it easy for the first 500 miles. Im gonna change it again in about 10K since its already been about 25K. I was wondering about the same thing....Amsoil or Redline...I have to order both, so convenience is not a factor, Im too busy to drive around trying to save a few bucks on shipping. Anyhow, Ill check back to see what others say. Shifting is still smooth, and I am satisified with Redline so far, maybe Ill just stick with a good thing.

one of my fourth gens has amsoil, and the other one has redline. I am happy with both of them. The only difference I have noticed is that when the car is cold in the morning the car with redline is more notchy for longer than the amsoil. Its more notchy for about the first minute of driving then I cannot tell a difference.
