For the specs it provides, Valvoline in a steel for anyone who needs good brake fluid for everyday driving. Either way as long as you're not boiling your current fluid, you should do fine. But I know Valvoline has much better specs than Prestone.

first find out why ur pedla is mushy... i would think ur front will be the sole area of interest.

try bleeding ALL 4 calipers, and take ur time, observe the tube and what not.. it not really a matter of fluid that determines whether ur pedal is mushy or not. i've used prestone 3 for a while, as well as stp, all have given me no problems, but for those technical u can try valvoline. i will use that after i do the rears.

is there anything else specifically for JUST DOT 3 systems? the valv says okay for 3 and 4, but i feel a bit weary that there's actually subliminal difference. i rather stick to a fluid for DOT 3, but can't find anything other than the prestone one. and the usual STP

Dot 4, ot the STP high temp, can't use dot 5 with ABS because it causes air bubbles

Valvoline huh? Autozone didn't have but Advance Auto has at $4.77/qt. Think I'm gonna ditch the Motul 600 at 5X that price!

I've used the Valvoline synthetic for many years now on the street and on the track. I've used it on roadcourses (Watkins Glen, Lime Rock, Summit Point Main Track) with zero problems (i.e., no fluid boiling, no mushy pedal). I've experienced pad fade, but never had a problem with the fluid. I holds up very well.

I have Wilwood FSL calipers and I do change it often.

Its available at any parts store and its cheap. Go get some.
