I was thinking about changing my OCI's

few questions.
I am in the middle of my cleaning phase with auto rx. I had been running M1 with 5k oci's prior to this cleaning phase. My car was due for an oil change so upon starting the cleaning phase i switched the car to castrol 5-30 bulk dino and put a new filter in. so far I really like whats going on. engine is silky quiet 600 miles into the cleaning phase. I am going to do 2 full clean-rinse cycles. After witch, i was thinking of keeping the car on DINO with an auto rx maintainence dose for shorter 3k intervals. Now on the subject of DINO oil, is bulk that much worse than actuall quart bottles? I really don't know if my car is really benefiting from Sythetic. i put about 35 miles a day from my highway commute. other than that i drive around town sprikling About another 50-100 miles a week. what do you guys think?

No real way to say without empirical data specific to your car. I'd suggest getting an oil analysis from a lab like Blackstone, for your next few oild changes to see how your oil is holding up and if you can go for longer time periods between oild changes.

As long as the oil is the same brand, weight and production batch, there shouldn't be significant differences between bulk and quart bottles.

Lastly, my personal opinion is that as long as you're consistant and regularly change your oil, whether with dino or syn, your VQ will take care of you.

How many miles are on your Maxima and how long does it take you to put on 5K? I would be inclined to switch back to synthetic following the 2 AutoRX clean phases. Remember the 2 rinse phases are necessary.

I have 100 miles to go on my AutoRX rinse phase and am switching to synthetic oil for the first time - Esso XD3, 0w30, PAO, full synthetic oil.

if you have more than 100k miles, autorx recommends 2 rinse phases.
