Auto RX- how many bottles?

My car has about 72000 miles, never AutoRX'ed it yet. How many bottles would I need for the thoroughest cleaning possible?
How many bottles did you buy?
How many have you gone through already?
Thanks

gold, pretty straight forward - at 72K - one bottle should do your engine, or are you thinking about doing the tranny also? follow the link ....

The directions call for 9 ounces of AutoRX in the crankcase, given your mileage.

I have just completed my AutoRX clean and rinse. I ended up dumping the whole bottle in, which is 12 ounces, and confirmed with Frank (the owner of AutoRX) that that was no problem.

My engine is running so quietly now that I literally can not hear it at idle with the windows rolled up and the heater/defrost turned off.

I only had about 59K mostly highway miles when I started the AutoRX. Following the completion of the rinse phase, my friend cut open my Nissan OEM filter and we took the filter media out. There was some crud captured in the process, not chunks of sludge, but particles nevertheless.

I endorse this product!

I may start using it on a maintenance basis following completion of my first synthetic OCI (I have justed switched to synthetic oil for the first time).

Go to www.auto-rx.com and read all about it there. This is not a spoon-feeding exercise.

It's in your owner's manual and your Haynes manual. I trust you have both.
If not, get them!

Proof^^^ lol
plus itll be here in 7-10 days so it might be warmer by then

I said earlier to add 9 ounces. You do the math. The instructions call for 2 ounces per quart of crankcase capacity. Given what I said that would equate to 4.5. quarts.

Page 1-2 of the Haynes manual states that the capacity (including oil filter) is 4.25 quarts. Therefore add 8.5 ounces.

I used the entire 12 oz. bottle.

rinsing phase says to use non synthetic oil but can I pour it in my mobil 1 while doing cleaning phase? Also would it be better to put auto rx right after oil change or use it on slightly used oil? P.S. I don't mind wasting 4.5 quarts of mobil1. Thanks.

You are supposed to have at least 1,500 miles left on your OCI when you start the clean phase. Change the oil filter and add the AutoRX. There is no need to start with fresh oil on the clean phase.

I'm pretty sure Mobil1 should be fine. I think Frank recommends dino because it's cheap. As long as you have a fresh oil filter.

The recommendation to use dino oil in the rinse phase has absolutely nothing to do with it being cheaper than synthetic oil.

Your moniker is appropriate. Read what the website states before you spew any more jibberish.

This sucks...

I want to run Auto-RX but I only drive my car at most a few hundred miles a months so it would take forever and I dont think it will work as well with out being driven often...

I am a low mileage driver as well and I verified from Frank (the owner) that the length of time makes no difference. It's the miles that count.

You might get better results if the car is brought up to operating temperature and kept there awhile, but I doubt the difference in short hops vs longer trips would make an appreciable difference.

The AutoRX is dark in color and may smell. Don't be so ****.

Every Canadian should be able to convert kilometres to miles. Look at your odometer for starters.

There is a conversion table in the Haynes manual. Buy one.

1 mile = 1.609 kilometres
1 kilometre = 0.6214 miles
