2 Spoons Of Ammonia in the washer fluid?

I was wondering if anyone has ever put 2 teaspoons of ammonia in their washer fluid. A friend of mine did it to his leased car, and it works great on the salt and grime from the winter roads.
Does anyone know if it ruins the paint? If so I'm not doing it!

I don't really see how it could be good for the paint...or clearcoat especially...I wouldnt do it...Just buy some of the special winter mixed windhield sulid from Wal-Mart or a store like that.

Ammonia will strip any and all wax/sealant off the paint. Dont know about if its left there to sit for a long time, but it cant be good for the paint
